Protective resistors Type SCHUWI
Components for wagon construction (selection)
Protective resistors in accordance with DIN VDE 0123 are used to limit the bearing current. The resistor interrupts the insulation of the wheelset bearings and thus prevents damage to the bearings. An impermissible increase in contact voltages is prevented and short-circuit currents are dissipated. The resistor is 0.1 Ω or 0.05 Ω as standard.
