Screw-in heater

The screw-in heaters can be manufactured in the following Protection classes:

• IP 00: open
• IP 41: with cover cap – protection against foreign bodies and dripping water
• IP 64: with connection housing – protection against dust ingress and splash water

Equipped with IP 41 or IP 64 protection class housing, these heating elements can be fitted with a temperature limiter and/or a controller. This creates a ready-to-use heating element that can be used for a wide variety of heating tasks.

Mounting can be either horizontal or vertical.

Usage in liquids must completely cover the tubular heating elements. The
liquid circulation must not be obstructed by the heating elements. It must be ensured that no large deposits (e.g. limescale) are deposited on the radiator. The maximum operating pressure is 6 bar.

Screw connection

The screw-in heaters can be screwed directly into a G 1½” threaded hole in containers with a wall thickness of 10 mm or more. The counterpart for the screw head must have a
countersink of 2.5 x 45°. For thin-walled containers, either a nut or a flange must be attached to the wall
or the radiator is screwed tight with a locknut G 1 1⁄2.
Gaskets and locknuts must be ordered separately.

The voltage of the tubular heating elements is 230 V (other voltages on request). Screw-in heaters without controller are generally supplied ready for 400 V three-phase current (star connection) (Fig. 5.1). Conversion to 230 V alternating current (parallel connection) can be carried out according to (Fig. 5.2).

Screw-in heaters G 1 1⁄2″ with temperature controller are supplied wired ready for connection. The setting range is either 30 to 110 °C or 50 to 300 °C. The sensor of the capillary tube controller is located in a protective tube between the heating tubes and measures the liquid temperature. The single or three-pole regulators are infinitely adjustable from the outside. (On request, we can supply regulators with internal adjustment as adjustment protection). Up to a total output of 3000 W, conversion to 230 V alternating current (parallel connection) can be carried out as shown in Fig. 5.2. For total outputs above 3000 W/230 V, the power should generally be supplied via a contactor (max. fuse protection 16 A).

This screw-in heater with controller and limiter is type-tested and suitable for continuous operation. Versions with different controller and limiter combinations are also possible. It consists of 3 tubular heating elements, which are installed in a G 1 ½” screw-in head with sensor protection tube. This version is supplied with connection housing and a controller/safety temperature limiter combination. Optionally with signaling device. All heating elements have degree of protection IP 64.
